Bridal Shower Planning in Iowa

You have been given the task to plan a bridal shower for someone close to you, but how does the planning process begin? Knowing where to start can be daunting, but Alta House Event Center in Newton, Iowa, is here to help make it smoother and more enjoyable!

Here are some of our top tips to remember when planning a bridal shower.

Pick a bridal shower theme that fits the bride's taste.

Themes can be an interesting part of your planning, as it might be overwhelming to find a theme that you think will appeal to everyone.

However, the most important person is the bride, of course, so it’s important to keep the theme centered around designs, aesthetics, or hobbies that she enjoys.

For example, if you have a bride that loves the look of the city and likes to keep her style classic, clean and striking, a rustic country theme might not be the way to go. Try a theme that reflects the fun parts of her personality and style!

Curate your bridal shower guest list.

While the rest of the party might be a surprise to the bride, you taking over the planning process is more to relieve stress for her than to use shock appeal.

She should approve everyone on the guest list to ensure there is no one she might want there accidentally left out or no friendships you might not know the status of leading to an awkward encounter.

Include personalized touches that the bride will love.

It’s all in the details and we think that saying applies to more and more elements of the planning process. Including some touches of things you know the bride will love, like her favorite flowers, playing her favorite music, or serving her go-to drink on a night out will show her all of the love and make her feel so special.

Plan a fun activity for all of the shower guests to enjoy.

Bridal shower games can make some brides run for the hills at the thought of participating in a cringe-worthy activity, so plan accordingly. If your bride is not a fan of the classic games, try an activity that is more casual and could lead to good conversations.

Some ideas could be bouquet-making, cocktail competitions, scavenger hunts, or DIY party favors.

Pick a great location for the bridal shower.

A great location can bring your bridal shower to the next level and really make the guests want to get into the celebratory mood.
