FAQs

New FAQs may appear on this site; please check back before the event for additional information.

How do I pay for my winnings?

Cash, check and card payment will be accepted that evening.

Where does the money go?

100% of the dollars collected from the auction will go to the Newton Arboretum Flooring Project. Thank you to our contributors for donating their time and services.

I'm a professional dessert maker/baker. Can I donate an item to the auction?

Yes! Individuals, home based-businesses and retailers can donate desserts. We encourage desserts made from scratch.

What is the format of the auction on April 2nd?

This is a live auction held on site at Alta House Event Center, Newton. Each dessert will be highlighted by our guest emcees before the auctioneer opens the dessert for bids.
A number of "RingPersons" will manage bidding, including bids coming from Proxy representatives. Volunteers will verify and confirm the winning bidder name/number before proceeding to the next item.
We ask that, unless an unusual circumstance applies, items be paid for and removed at the end of the auction to not disrupt the auctioneer and bidders.

When can I drop off my dessert for the event?

Dessert drop-off will take place on Thursday, April 2 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Alta House. Please plan to deliver your dessert within this window.
